These names include the ancestors of my wife

My research to date on my father's side:
I was born in N.S.W. Australia in
1964, a first generation Australian. I now live in the Central Highlands
of Victoria Australia. My mother was born in London and lived there
during the blitz of WWII her parents surnames were HARLEN and KING. My
father was born in a little town in Scotland called Dalmellington, which
is located just southeast of Ayr on the west coast of Scotland.
Since posting this site some years ago I have had great success. I received an email some
time ago from the UK. The originator stated that his grandfather also came
from Dalmellington and had the same surname as mine. A few days later we
were able to confirm that our grandfathers were actually brothers and that
we share the same great grandfather. This has saved me quite a bit of money
in search fees, but most of all I now have an arm of my family that I would
never have known of.
(Thanks Drew and Vicki)
So now I know that my
great grandfather was James WALLACE and he was married to Jessie DEMPSTER. I have discovered that James died from injuries
sustained after a fall down a flight of stairs one New Years Eve, possibly
after a few too many whiskeys.
And so the search continues...I
have updated my links with some that have been helpful and others you may
find useful for you
I have detailed most
of the surnames that I have so far researched in the link to Wallace/Ure
Family Tree.
To
the left are some very handy
Scottish Genealogy links that I have come across whilst looking for my
roots.
